Alexander Conze’s letters to Johannes Vahlen from 1868 to 1877 deal with Conze’s professorship at the University of Vienna and all sorts of questions Conze expected Vahlen to answer. The letters from Conze’s Viennese period are mainly about publications, the planning of an archaeological university museum, Conze’s grave-relief-project and the Samothrace excavation.
